Vice Principal I was initially attracted to joining the British School of Guangzhou due to the challenge that it represented. The School was a very different place when I arrived in 2010 with our oldest cohort just about to embark on their IGCSE courses. During the interim time the school has grown to offer an education to students aged 1-19, the facilities have been developed year on year and the students have achieved fantastic sets of examinations results that are comparable with the best schools in the world. I have been fortunate enough to be teaching for 20 years and have fulfilled a number of roles prior to my current position as Head of Secondary. I joined the British School of Guangzhou as the Deputy Head of Secondary in 2010 and was promoted to the role of Head of Secondary school in 2012. Prior to moving to Guangzhou I have performed a variety of roles including Head of Year, Head of Faculty, Head of Department and Head of House. I have always enjoyed sport and physical fitness and I have been active in a number of sports including football, cricket, kick boxing, scuba diving and cycling. My other main passion is travel and the perfect holiday allows me to combine these two passions. In my ten years of international teaching, my wife and I have been fortunate enough to hike, skydive, kayak, canoe, trek, dive and climb many beautiful places across 5 continents at the same time as experiencing different cultures and societies.
